This was another busy week at Nuclead. We fabricated and shipped a variety of lead products from our large inventory of in stock lead. This includes lead weights, lead caulking, lead wool and lead glass. In addition, we also shipped lead foil and lead wool straight from inventory.
Nuclead also CNC machined certain pure lead items.
Here are some of the details of these weeks’ activities:
- Fabricated and shipped, Lead weights to be used as lead window sash weights to a window fabricator in Sarasota, FL
- Fabricated and shipped, lead caulking to a mining equipment manufacturer in Vienna, IL. Lead caulk can be used for waterproofing joints. Lead is very stable and a lead moisture barrier will last as long as most buildings.
- Cut and ship lead glass to a veterinary hospital in Holden, MA. Lead glass is used in x-rays rooms to provide a clear view of the subject while providing radiation protection for the operator.
- Ship from stock, lead foil to a rubber and printing company in Twinsburg, OH
- Fabricated and shipped flexible lead wire to a pediatric medical manufacture in Edinboro, PA
- We shipped lead wool from our inventory to an aerospace manufacture in Blenheim, New Zealand. Lead Wool consists of chemical grade lead drawn in long, fine strands; which are twisted together into rope that is usually about 2.5 ft. per pound. A common application for lead wool is to seal flanged connections in cast iron, cement and earthenware pipes, and apertures of walls and ceilings.
