Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead based products such as Antimony Lead, Lead Seals and Lead Shielding. As well as value-added services such as Secondary Smelter, CNC machining, casting and extrusion.
Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the world.
Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.
Nuclead also has metals analysis capabilities such as nondestructive XRF (X-ray fluorescence) testing.
Nuclead’s has extensive experience in custom precision engineering. Nuclead can cast any standard lead alloy or any custom alloy to your specifications. We can machine your product to your drawings. Nuclead also provides stamping and cutting, lead welding and lead assembly and lamination services.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Secondary smelt lead block with 3% antimony lead. Sold several thousand pounds to a machine shop in the mid-west; for its own value-added CNC machining to their customers specifications.
- Fabricate tooling and cast 2% antimony lead pigs for radiation protection for nuclear waste storage. Sold to a reseller who inventories and sells these items from stock; to any company needs lead shield radiation casks.
- Fabricate and ship lead sample coupons for testing. This customer required a certain alloy of materials for US Army test and confirmation for lead seals of jet aircraft engines. The seals must collapse at the correct tensile strength to be accepted.
- Fabricate custom lead molds and provide lead smelting of 3% Antimony Lead. Sold to a machine shop in Tennessee for their own value-added services.
- CNC machine to customer provided blueprints, using inventory Lead shielding, 1″ thick. Sold to a semiconductor company in California, used for radiation shielding of medical equipment.
- Pure lead extrusion: Lead Round: 1.00″ dia. x 44.00″ long: Sold several thousand pounds to a metal distributor in the great lakes region for resale.
- CNC machine per customer blue print specifications and tolerances. Custom lead Seals for a customer in the Energetic and Pyrotechnic industry.
- Fabricate & sold to a repeat customer: Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1″ wide x .687″ joint depth x 25# (Ref: 40′) spool(s). Min. buy: 25#; “Type A” = Flat cap; this customer uses Nuclead T-caps for Waterproofing & stone flashing for various projects in New England.
- Fabricate and ship Lead Sheet: 4.0 mm x 72.00″ x 96.00″; sold to a lumber manufacture for unknown purposes.
- Smelt Pure Caulking Lead: Five count of Virgin 5# ingots. Sold to a mining OEM in the mid-west for diesel engine gaskets.

- Pick and ship Pure Lead Pig ingots, approx. 40#-70# ingots (approx. size: 3.00″ x 3.00″ x 18.00″, loaf shape); Sold to a material distributor in New England for resale.
- Pick and ship an Amazon store item: Lead Diving Weight: 1#: Sold to a private party in Texas.
- Ship Cut Lead sheet: 1/16″ x 8.00″ x 48.00″: sold to a metal fabrication plant in New England for its own value-added services
- Pick and ship Lead Wool per QQ-C-40 to a local municipality using the materials for antique rod iron fence repair for one of their local cemeteries.
- Saw and ship Lead Shielding: 5/8″ x 6.00″ x 15.00″: Sold to a machine shop in New England for their own value-added services.
- Saw and ship special Lead flashing: 1/16″ x 8.00″ x 291.00″; Sold to a general contractor for a restoration project of a commercial log cabin for overnight guests in the mid-west.
- Saw and ship pure lead foil 0.020″ x 31.00″ x 31.00″. Sold a large order to a valve OEM in the Mid-west that uses the lead foil for shimming purposes during installation of custom valve work.
- Pick and ship from in stock inventory: Lead pipe: 6.50″ id x 1/8″ wall x 30.00″ lg. Sold to a major North-East municipality power grid for shielding purposes.
- Saw and ship Cut Lead sheet: 3/32″ x 10.00″ x 48.00″. Sold to a machine shop in New England for its’ own value-added services.
- Pick and ship from in stock inventory: Lead screw shield(s), 1/16″. Sold to a chiropractic firm in New England. The Items were purchased after a third-party contractor forgot to order them. This customer needed them quickly and Nuclead ship them overnight to help them out.
