Here are some items we recently shipped to customers around the United States.
Some shipments required significant fabrication activities, some needed to be cut to size or picked from our extensive in-stock inventory of lead products, and many projects required value-added engineering and machine shop services.
Recent Shipments
- Cast lead alloy to 40-1 alloy specifications – 2.5% Sn / 97.5% lead. Fabricate lead alloy into lead round bar stock per MIL-L-13283 (Gr 1). (1.0% – 2.5% Sb): 1.00″ dia. x 12.00″ lg. Ship via Less Than Truckload LTL freight to a Wisconsin tool and die shop. Hard lead was used for this application; soft lead would not be sufficient. Antimony (Sb) and Lead (Pb) were alloyed together to make the final product stiffer to allow for more structural integrity.
- Pick and ship Pure lead Pig ingots, Approx. 30#-70# ingots, 3.50″ x 4.00″ x 22.00″, loaf shape. Deliver with Nuclead Trucking to a Yacht wharf in New England. The soft lead was used for boat ballast for the Yacht. Lead brick and lead weights were used as lead smelter, fabricated to the customer’s written specifications, and certified the same. As an ISO fabrication company, you’ll know the lead products will be done correctly, on time, and meet or exceed ISO-9001:2015 quality management standards.
- Cast Pure Lead billet: 26# x 2.375″ to 2.625″ tapered (2.44″ diameter) x Ref: 13.00″ long. Using the lead weight from our pig lead inventory, Nuclead extrudes the lead products into custom lead extrusions per customer specifications. This lead construction material order was shipped via LTL trucking to a national masonry firm in Pennsylvania for lead stone flashing. Providing Lead products for the construction industry is one of our main verticals. Items consist of lead lined drywall, lead sheets, and elevator counterweights. - Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Ra & #765601S, to a restoration firm in Massachusetts for a restoration project of historic government buildings. This commercial customer requested the soft lead billets used to the specifications of ASTM-B-29.
- Fabricated and delivered 1.75″ Lead Outlets @ 40 P.C.s./carton CNC turned from Tuyau Lead (Pb)/Copper (Cu) lead pipe, Dross Free, Uniform wall. Dimension: 1.75 “id x .070″ wall x 5.25” long. It was delivered to a national hardware store distributor for resale. The seamless lead tubing is void free to produce the highest quality lead goosenecks for this industrial customer for its end users.
- Pick Lead sheet: 1/32″ x 48.25″ x 291.00″. Cut lead rolls into sections of Lead Strips: 1/32″ x 0.24″ x 5.50″. Ship via LTL trucking to a Health and Science Laboratory in Oregon. The thin lead sheeting will be used as lead shielding for the research industry. The custom cut order was packed and delivered in large crates to protect it from damage.
- Roll lead >=97%-98% Pure Lead (Pb) into Lead foil: 0.005″ (+/-.001″) x 1.00″ x Approx. 5 lb. each, on fiber cores. Nominal length “Each” = 202′ (2,424″); lead coils. All Products are fabricated in the United States.
The latest revision of OSHA approved SDS & Conflict material, CFSI_CMRT, is on file with an oil company customer in Oklahoma. Total (Reference only) Nominal length per order = (N’) Order >= (N’) = 220,000′ (Ref only: 5,500# each). Lead strips are used as lead seals during the cleaning process in the field. Lead coils are soft and flexible to achieve this task. - Produced Custom Lead Services of Lead Soundproofing sheet: (1.15#) 0.020″ x 48.00″ x 240.00″; Re-roll mill fabricated product onto one solid fiber core. It was shipped via Old Dominion Freight Lines to customers located in New York. Lead is the best soundproofing material as it requires much thinner materials to achieve lower decibels of protection.
- Roll and Cut Special lead items of Lead foil: 0.005″ (+/- 0.0005″) x 12.00″ x 50# per UNS L51121. Lead products must be from the same lot number. It was shipped via Nuclead Trucking to Pennsylvania to an industrial OEM producing radiation shielded lined boxes for a U.S. government sub-contractor. The thin radiation shielding sheeting is used for aerospace applications. Due to its attenuating properties, Lead has long been considered “the element of choice” for radiation shielding.
