Aerospace & Defense Customer Places largest order to date; for an order of machined sound proofing items:
Cambridge, Mass., 08/10/12 – Nuclead Co. Inc., a leader in shielding technology, lead material, fabrication and services, announced today the receipt of a large order by LMCO; of machined sound-proofing components for the Low Cost Conformal Array (LCCA) being manufactured by Lockheed Martin’s Maritime Systems & Sensors( MS2) Undersea Systems business for the U.S. Navy’s submarine force.
The LCCA is a passive planar sonar array mounted on a submarine’s aft sail structure and integrated with the Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off-The-Shelf Insertion AN/BQQ-10 sonar system. LCCA represents a significant new submarine capability that will enhance situational awareness, tactical control and collision avoidance in crowded littoral and dense shipping environments. The array will be integrated with AN/BQQ-10 sonar systems installed on Los Angeles, Seawolf and Virginia class submarine platforms.
All of the Nuclead Co. Inc. items for the project will be delivered thru the end of the calendar year.

With our sophisticated Cad-Cam, CNC centers, QC equipment and Proprietary production control systems; along with our experienced craftsmen, Lockheed has elected to continue using us to fabricate many projects over the years,” said Dennis M.
