Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead-based products such as lead bar stock, lead washers, lead brick, lead caulk.

Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.
Nuclead’s custom precision engineering services include mold fabrication as well as the production of lead alloy and other alloys, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Fabricate and ship one ton of 3/8” diameter round lead bar stock. Sold to a medical OEM that uses the lead materials in their product for leads heavy, soft properties. This customer wants to be able to bend the lead rod by hand and have the product stay as stable as possible during their processes, then moved back to original form again.
- CnC fabricate hundreds of lead shear washer seals for a defense contractor. This buyer requires lead for its soft properties to shear quickly instead of damaging multi-million-dollar equipment components if the event of an error or in a failure mode. Shear pins and items have been used for decades in all sorts of equipment from snowblowers to CNC servo motors to protect expensive ball screws. Lead is a perfect material for many applications that require slight sensitivity for fast action.
- Fabricate and ship custom Nuclead brand lead brick. Sold 2,000# to a Physics Dept. in the southeast for radiation protection.
- Fabricate and ship to a local plumbing supply house: Nuclead “Puritan” Brand, pure Caulking Lead: Five count of Virgin 5# ingots, for re-sale.
From Inventory
- Saw and deliver Lead sheet: 1/32″ x 24.00″ x 240.00″. Sold to an electric contractor requiring lead shielding for a construction project at the University of North Carolina’s new x-ray rooms.
- Pick and ship Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1″ wide x .687″ joint depth x 25# (Ref: 40′) spool(s). Min buy: 25#; “Type A” = Flat cap; Sold to a local waterproofing form for their standard inventory.
- Cut to customer specifications and ship. Custom lead items: AMS-7721: 6% Antimony Lead plate: 0.079″ x 36.00″ x 48.00″. Shipped to a machine shop in California for their own value-added services.
- Pick and ship Special Non-cancel-able lead item: Lead radiation shielding per AMS-7721: 6% Antimony Lead plate: 0.079″ x 36.00″ x 48.00″. sold to a manufacture in California for it owns value added service.
- Pick and ship Pure lead Pig ingots, per QQ-l-171, Grade B with QQ-l-171 certifications. Sold to a specialty material re-seller exclusively for military and government contractors.
- Pick and ship Pure lead Pig ingots, approx. 40#-70# ingots (approx. size: 3″ x 4″ x 20″, loaf shape). Sold to a ship builder in the north east for lead ship ballast.
- Pick and ship 2″ Lead Gutter Outlets @ 30 PCs. /carton: Sold to a regional hardware distributor.
