Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead products such as Lead Brick, Lead T-caps, Babbitt and Lead Casks. As well as value-added services such as Secondary Smelter, CNC machining, casting and extrusion.
Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the world.
Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.
Nuclead also has metals analysis capabilities such as nondestructive XRF (X-ray fluorescence) testing.
Nuclead’s has extensive experience in custom precision engineering. Nuclead can cast any standard lead alloy or any custom alloy to your specifications. We can machine your product to your drawings. Nuclead also provides stamping and cutting, lead welding and lead assembly and lamination services.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Fabricate and ship Nuclead Puritan Brand, Caulking lead: Five count of Virgin 5# ingots. Sold to a heavy Equipment manufacture that uses the lead caulking for engine fabrication.
- Fabricate and ship Lead brick: 3% Antimony: 1.75″ x 3.00″ x 4.00″; sold to a machine shop in Pennsylvania for its own value-added services.
- Fabricate Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1″ wide x .687″ joint depth x 25# (Ref: 40′) spool(s). “Type A” = Flat cap; Sold to a general contractor in Virginia for a waterproofing and restoration project.
- Fabricate Babbitt, #4 Hardware Babbitt: 1-2% Tin/ 12-14% Antimony/ Balance Pb. Sold to repeat customer; a bearing OEM in the Mid-West, for it fabrication process.
- Fabricate and ship per customer blueprints: Ring Antimony; per drawing provided. These items were CAN machines to high tolerances and QC requirements. Sold to a defense contractor for re-sale in Texas.
- Fabricate special lead flashing and sell to a general contractor in Arizona for their special project needs
- Fabricate per customer blueprints: Pure Lead Storage Cask w/Lids. These radiation casks were shipped to a national laboratory for movement or highly radioactive materials. The order was a rush and Nuclead fabricated and shipped 4 casks in less than one week.
- Fabricate and ship Lead sheet per L51121: 1/16″ x 0.80″ x 7.70″ (+/- .020); Break All Edges .005″ / .015″; Sold to a machine shop in California to be used in a large assembly of X-ray shielding components.
- Fabricate and ship Lead round 6% antimony: 2.00″ dia. Babbitt faces. These items are sold to specialty tooling OEM’s that specialize in oil rig tooling. Oil rig tooling needs to meet certain requirements as not to create sparks and other specifications.

- Cut and Ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. (Maybe substituted with 5/64″ Le x 9mm thick at no extra charge as inventory allows)
27.75″ x 35.75″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv; Sold to a Construction company in New York for new installation of a radiation therapy research facility. - Cut Round Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 28cm diameter (11.0236″) x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv: Sold to a Semiconductor company in the Northeast for radiation protection during a Quality Control process.
- Saw per customer specifications: Cut Lead sheet: 1/16″ x 8.00″ x 48.00″: Sold to a specialized hammer OEM in the North East. This fabricator makes special, non-spark hammers for the oil industry using Nuclead materials.
- Cut and ship Lead sheet: 1/8″ x 12.00″ x 84.00″; sold to an electric motor and armature OEM in the south west for lead shielding purposes.
- Pick and ship 8 tons of Re-claimed Lead shot/balls: For Ballast, Re-melting, or Misc. weight/Ballast: Misc. sizes & grades; and Pure Pig Lead. Sold to a Shipyard in New England for Ship ballast of a very large sailing vessel.
- Pick and ship Lead sheet: 3/4″ x 5.00″ x 10.50″; sold to a machine shop in the mid-west for its own value-added services.
