Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead-based products such as Lead Bricks, Babbitt, Lead Sleeves, Pig Lead.

Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services
Nuclead’s custom precision engineering services include mold fabrication as well as the production of lead alloy and other alloys, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Fabricate Nuclead’s’ own brand, Chevron interlocking lead bricks: “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Interlocking: 1.00″ x 4.00″ x 12” brick, chevron style: Fabricate special lead assemblies totaling 109.50″ in length with each end flush. Sold lead assemblies to Baker Hughes / GE. These materials will be used to replace some lead shielding on one of GE’s CT machines manufactured by our company, GE Inspection Technologies.
- Fabricate and deliver “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square edges Lead Bricks: 1.00″ x 4.00″ x 8.00″. Sold to an instrument OEM that requires the lead for its assembly process. This customer uses the lead for its heavy & soft mechanical properties. As not to damage its instruments during the process.
- Fabricate and ship “Nuclead” Brand 1.50″, 2.00 and 1.75” Lead Gutter Outlets @ 50 PCs. per carton. These many cartoons are sold to a National hardware distributor for re-sale.
- Fabricate Nuclead’s’ own Puritan Brand, Babbitt, #4 Hardware Babbitt: 1-2% Tin/ 12-14% Antimony/ Balance Pb. Sold to a bearing OEM in Illinois. The Babbitt is used for large custom bearings that they manufacture and distribute worldwide.
- Fabricate and ship special Lead foil: 0.010″ (+/- 0.0005″) x 12.00″ x 50# per UNS L51121. Sold to an aerospace OEM for custom manufactured lead lining for aircraft.
- Laminate special 48” wide commercial Lead doors: Wood (Flush, no panels), 1/16″ Lead. Laminated thickness: approx. 2” thick. Shipped Several units to a Commercial General contractor for new hospital construction in Texas.
- Smelt Pure Caulking Lead: Five count of Virgin 5# ingots per ASTM-B-29. Sold to a diesel engine manufacture that uses the pure lead during their assembly process.
- Fabricate Virgin Zinc: Grade A “Zn”, Bar: 1.03″ diameter. x 16.00″ long, sold to an automobile OEM of electronic harnesses. The Pure Zinc is used for its manufacturing processes.
From Inventory
- Lead extrusion: Pure Lead Seamless Sleeve; per ASTM-B-29: 5.50″ diameter ID x 7/32″ / 3/16″ wall x 26.00″ long. Sold to an energy company in New England for Radiation shielding.
- Cut and deliver Lead X-ray Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 12.00″ x 12.00″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. To be installed in a Chiropractic office in New York for its X-ray department.
- Saw and ship Lead sheet: 3/32″ x 48.25″ x 291.00″. Sold to an OEM of bench equipment that uses the lead for its heavy dense properties in its equipment manufacturing purposes.
- Pick and ship Pure lead Pig ingots, approx. 40#-70# ingots (approx. size: 3.00″ x 3.00″ x 18.00″, loaf shape). Sold to an engineering firm in New England that uses the lead pig as ballast during installation of commercial Windmills.
- Pick and ship Lead Wool per QQ-C-40: sold to and air field in Florida for regular routine propeller maintenance of its propped air fleet.
- Pick Pure lead Pig ingots, approx. 40#-70# ingots (approx. size: 3″ x 4″ x 20″, loaf shape). Sold to a machine shop in Tennessee for its own value-added lead CNC machining services.
- Pick and ship: Lead sheet: .0417″ x 24.00″ x 72.00″: Sold to a power plant in West Virginia for radiation shielding.
- Pick and deliver Lead Pipe: 2.00″ diameter ID x 24.00″ long to a local marina that uses the lead sleeves as ballast in tight corners of vessels.
