Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services
Nuclead’s has extensive experience in custom precision engineering. Nuclead can cast any standard lead alloy or any custom alloy to your specifications. We can machine your product to your drawings. Nuclead also provides stamping and cutting, lead welding and lead assembly and lamination services.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Fabricate and ship several tons of “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Interlocking 1″ x 4″ x 8″ brick, chevron style. Sold to a cancer center in Louisiana for radiation shielding of a new radiology department.
- Fabricate and ship several orders of “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square Edges Lead Brick: 2″ x 4″ x 8″. Sold to a radiation detection OEM of portable NDT x-ray equipment in New England.
- Fabricate and ship lead weights 60 lbs. each; Pig Lead, Size: 3.00″ x 4.00″ x 12.00″lg; Profile:54 Preference Code 9290 MCC:316- Source code 66: Per QQ-L-171 Grade B; Encapsulate with high build epoxy; Devoe, Devran #235; Coating to be black color, 8.0 mils thick & cured; Weather proof packaging. Ship to General Dynamics to be used as ballast at one of their vessel fabrication plants.
- Fabricate and ship per customer written blue print specifications; one lot of a repeat item sold to a Canadian defense sub-contractor. These tight tolerance CNC machined items are fabricated with AMS-7721 Antimony Lead plate, 0.080″ thick.
- Fabricate and ship two metric tons of 5/16″ diameter pure lead wire. Nuclead extrudes the lead bar stock, then fabricates the materials to various lengths per customer written blue print specifications. The lead wire is then sealed into weather proof & shrink wrapped containers to be used in the medical industry. This OEM uses lead for its heavy & soft properties for this particular application. Being in the medical field the lead must be contained to omit technicians from handling the lead.

- Pick and ship lead pipe from in stock inventory: Sold to a waste water treatment plant to remove materials from its waste tanks.
- Saw and laminate with 3M PSA to one side, lead sheeting. Sold to a regular customer n the limber industry.
- Saw and ship Chemical Lead sheet/foil: 1/16″ x 12.00″ x 12.00″ Sold to an Energy company in Canada for shielding purposes
- Cut and ship Lead Acrylic: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 18.00″ x 24.00″ x 0.50mm Le x 12.00mm thick x 150kv: Sold to a University in Canada a s research department.
- Saw and ship 4# lead shielding: Sold to an Electrical Contractor for shielding purposes in Maryland.
- Pick and ship Lead pipe: 0.75″ id x 1/4″ wall x 60″ lg. Sold to a plumbing and valve OEM in the Northeast USA.
- Pick and ship several hundred pounds of Pure Lead Pig ingots, approx. 40#-70# ingots (approx. size: 3″ x 4″ x 20″, loaf shape) per ASMT-B-29: Sold to a machine shop in Tennessee for its own value added services.
- Pick and ship lead foil, sold to a Canadian research department at a large University for a research project.
- Pick and ship Lead Wool per QQ-C-40: Shipped to a large Plumbing contractor in Florida for some commercial waist pipe repairs.
