Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead based products such lead foil, lead radiation bricks and lead gutter outlets. Here are some of the items we shipped this month to customers around the world.
There are numerous applications for lead as a result of its physical properties and relatively low cost. Lead is a high density material that is effective for radiation shielding, and X-ray shielding. Lead is also suitable for use in construction and applications at sea since it is highly malleable and resistant to corrosion. Lead is also useful for soundproofing applications.
Specifically:
Lead Foil is used in medical applications often to provide x-ray radiation protection, it is also used on oil rigs to protect equipment.
Lead radiation bricks are typically used in the nuclear industry for short or long term radiation protection
Lead gutter outlets provide a corrosion resistant connection between the gutters and downspout, they are often used today on historic building restoration projects.

- We fabricated and shipped lead radiation bricks per QQ-L-201-f, for L3 communications in California.
- Nuclead cut to size a quantity of lead sheeting which was sold to an aviation equipment repair station in Texas.
- For our in stock inventory (the largest in the North Eastern USA), we picked and shipped lead fit all plugs for a local plumber in Massachusetts.
- Also from our inventory we picked and shipped lead gutter outlets to a local general contractor in Concord Ma for a restoration project.
- Again from the inventory Nuclead picked and shipped 0.002″ thick pure lead foil. Sold to a machine shop in Titusville, FL for its own value added services.
- Nuclead fabricated and shipped 1″ flat lead weathercaps, t-caps. Sold to a general contractor doing a restoration project in State College, PA
- We also fabricated and shipped a standard 40-1 lead bullet alloy for ammunition metal. Sold to an ammunition fabricator in Massachusetts.
- Cut and ship lead x-ray glass to the Smithsonian Observatory. Nuclead cut the small custom shapes and ship them very quickly per customers’ needs. The shapes where complex and had tight tolerances.
