Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.
Nuclead’s custom precision engineering services include mold fabrication as well as the production of lead alloy and other alloys, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Fabricate and ship Lead Sheet Rock, 48.00″ x 96.00″:1/32″ Lead Sheeting, bonded for installation purposes only, to; 1/2″ sheet rock; Lead Sheet Rock, 48.00″ x 96.00″:1/32″ Lead Sheeting, Bonded for installation purposes only, to; 1/2″ sheet rock. & pick Lead screw shield(s), 1/32″. Sold to a general Contractor in Tennessee for the installation of X-ray Shielding tonto a new medical facility in Columbia.
- Fabricate and ship Virgin Zinc: Grade A “Zn”, Bar: 1.03″ dia. x 16.00″ long & supply Virgin Antimony: Grade A “Sb”. Sold to an Automobile Electronics OEM using Nuclead materials for their solder and production processes.
- CNC Mill Molds and cast Pure “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square edges Lead Brick: 1.50″ x 5.25″ x 47.00″. Sold to an Automobile Racing team in Mississippi for weighing down their stock cars rear axles.
- Fabricate 10# ingot sample of Pure lead Pig ingots, per QQ-l-171, Grade B. Sold to a Testing facility in California. This testing lab will advise their customer of the results of a potential large pending order.
- Fabricate and ship “Nuclead” Brand, 1.75″ Lead Outlets @ 40 PCs. /carton. Sold to a Regional wholesaler to be sold at retail centers across New England.
- Fabricate and ship “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square edges Lead Radiation Brick: 2.00″ x 4.00″ x 8.00″. Sold and delivered to US Army / Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, Radiological & High Yield Explosives; 20th CBRNE Command; Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD for radiation shielding.
- Fabricate and ship Lead sheet: 0.50″ x 1.25″ x 48.00″; Sold and shipped to US Navy / NSDWG (Special Warfare Development Group) – N94 Virginia Beach, VA for unknown purposes.
- Fabricate one ton of 26# special CNC machined lead weights, Sold to a third party for finished assembly of Sikorsky Helicopter components. Being an Aerospace item the weights all needed to be held to tight tolerances.
- Fabricate and ship Virgin Zinc: Grade A “Zn”, 1.03” diameter bar stock. Sold to a fabrication house in New England for its own value-added services.
- CNC Machine 35 special elevator counterweights for an elevator service company in New York. These weights are customer design per blueprints provided and will be install into a multi-story building in the Bronx.
- Fabricate and ship a second recent order of Babbitt, #4 Hardware Babbitt: 1-2% Tin/ 12-14% Antimony/ Balance Pb. Sold to a bearing manufacturer in Arkansas for their assembly process for production bearings.
- Fabricate and ship release 3 of 3 of lead soundproofing component parts for Lockheed Martin MS2-Radar Systems, for the US Navy’s’ Los Angeles, Sea wolf and Virginia Class submarine platforms. The LCCA is a passive planar sonar array mounted on a submarine’s aft sail structure and integrated with the Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off-The-Shelf Insertion AN/BQQ-10 sonar system. LCCA represents a significant new submarine capability that will enhance situational awareness, tactical control and collision avoidance in crowded littoral and dense shipping environments. The array will be integrated with AN/BQQ-10 sonar systems.

- Lead extrusion Lead wire: 5/8″ dia. x 25-50 lb. spools; Sold to a machine shop in Utah for its own value-added services.
- Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth x 25# (Ref: 40′) spool(s). “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Code: #07656-01 & #765601S. Sold to a Masonry Corporation in New England for waterproofing stone work using the weathercap materials as stone flashing.
- Saw and ship to a re-seller in Florida: One ton of Lead sheet per QQ-L-201: 1/16″ x 24.00″ x 48.00″.
