This week Nuclead demonstrated that we have available a large breadth of services, these include lead products shipped from stock and fabricated and value added precision lead services.
Here are some of the details.
We fabricated and shipped 3″ diameter lead rounds to a Machine shop in Rockford, TN; for their own value added services. Lead rounds are one of the many stock items available at Nuclead’s lead products inventory. Lead rounds are available from 1/16?-6? diameter x 50# length. Lead bar stock has been used in a many industrial applications including electrical interconnection in computers, lighting equipment, motor leads, heating and cooling equipment, harness fabrication and automotive. Lead bar stock can also be used in high voltage applications such as motors, heaters and stoves; lead bar stock is also used to fabricate bullets.
Nuclead also shipped a rush order of AMS-7721 plate to an aerospace manufacturer in Burr Ridge, IL. AMS-7721 is a standard lead antimony alloy used in the aerospace and other industries. Lead antimony alloys provide additional hardness to the lead and are often used in storage battery grids, sheet lead and pipe castings. Antimony contents of lead-antimony alloys can range from 0.5 to 25%, but they are usually 2 to 5%.
We received a special lead item that needs to be CNC machined per customer blue prints. Nuclead’s sister division, Sharp Manufacturing has value added precision lead services available including mold fabrication, alloy pours, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, lead welding and lead assembly. All of Sharp manufacturing’s processes are governed by our ISO 9001:2015, accredited quality control protocols. The Quality department has Coordinate-measuring machine (CMM) capabilities to ensure that your products are accurately quality controlled to a resolution of up to .00005? and a calibration to .0001?. All equipment and gages are calibrated to NIST standards as per our ISO 9001:2015, accredited Quality Manual.
