This was a short week for Nuclead as we are closed for the Good Friday holiday.
This week we shipped many of the kinds of items that lie at the core of Nuclead’s expertise. For example lead shielding where our experience includes lead shielding for x-ray shielding and protective radiation shielding for a variety of applications for customers in industry, research and government.
Also, medical X-ray Shielding, which includes Lead shielding assemblies and lead sheet supplied to a medical equipment & supplies customers and medical Lead Inserts – Nuclead has delivered flexible lead wire inserts to the medical industry on multiple occasions. These flexible lead inserts are used for pediatric care and are required to meet stringent standards.
Shipped lead shielding to a pharmaceutical customer in Canada for radiation shielding during various research projects.
Shipped lead wire to a medical customer that uses the material for pediatric ICU care. Lead wire is available in pure or alloyed lead wire rolls and meeting ASTM B29 03 or QQ-L-177e can be supplied in lengths ranging from 8 feet to 500 feet (Or longer if required). Lead wire is typically supplied in diameters ranging from 0.0625” to 1.50”, with various cross-sectional profiles.
We have also shipped lead soundproofing materials for the Seawolf submarine program. This is the final shipment of the current order release, we anticipate further releases later this year.
We have had a significant increase in requests for ammunition metal, there seems to be a short of ammunition at this time! Nuclead offers a wide range of bullet lead including pure lead, lead shot, and lead alloys. Standard lead alloys for bullets are lead/ tin with up to 9% tin, lead antimony with up to 6% antimony and lead/tin/antimony mixes. Nuclead can also offer custom ammunition metal formulations.
