Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the USA.
Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.
Recent Shipments
- Provide Free Samples, Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: width” x joint depth” x Approx. 12.00″; “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Code: #452001S & #765601S, size 11/16” and size 1.00” wide. Delivered via Nuclead Trucking to local Estate manager for customer approval. Upon approval the order pending will be for over 600 linear feet.
- Cast Lead round alloy stock 6% antimony: 1.50″ through 7.00” dia. x 60.00″ long and certify the same. Chop saw to various lengths and ship via LTL to a mold making firm in California. The custom lead alloys will be used in an industrial application for the aerospace industry.
- Produce Lead coil: 3/16″ x 1/4″ x 25 lbs. coils, with fiber core. Deliver with Nuclead Trucking to a CNC assembly line OEM in New England. The customer will use the custom extruded lead products as lead counterweights during balancing and counterweight processes during assembly. Nuclead specializes in custom lead weights for urgent, commercial, and industrial customers. Lead weights from commercial fishing to elevator counterweight or large lead weight. As a secondary lead smelter, Nuclead can fabricate these types of lead blocks and lead ingots for sale, then provide value-added services and precision machining lead services within aerospace tolerances. Lead bricks, both small and large, hard lead or soft lead, are commonly used as counterbalance materials, because of leads heavy, dense properties. The extruded lead bar stock in this case is much smaller and used to balance the equipment within grams.
- Pick and ship from in-stock inventory, Lead Wool per QQ-C-40. Ship small order via US ground to a construction site in New Jersey. The customer is using lead construction materials as leaf chimney flashing. They will remove old mortar and install sheet flashing rolls. They will then use the shredded lead wool and compress it into the cavity before repointing. This process ensures the lead flashings rolls do not pull out from the repair.
- Pick and ship Plastics: Nylon 6: 1/8″ x 7/8″ x 72.00″. Sold and shipped to custom steel tank OEM in Illinois. This customer required the custom materials for a special seal to resist chemical seepage.
- Saw lead plate and deliver via Nuclead Trucking a custom lead sheeting package. The customer will be using the lead products for sale as lead shielding during fusion requirements. The lead sheeting is u to ¼” thick for this application requiring a lot of lead shielding protection.
- Cast lead billets into 26# ingots. Certify to per lead per ASTM-B-29. Extrude Lead wire: 7/16″ dia. into 25 lb. spools. Delivered via Nuclead Trucking to this commercial machine shop that will use the lead items for their own value-added services in the security sector. The lead wire will be used as raw lead bar stock in their CNC turning department to make finished goods.
- Cut Lead sheet/flashing: 1/24″ x 10.00″ x 24′ (288.00″) into Lead sheet: 1/24″ x 3.00″ x 6.50″ , weighing 100g per piece. Sold and shipped to an equestrian farm in Maryland that uses the custom lead items as handicap weights for thoroughbreds racing. These custom, small lead weights are used commercially in professional horse racing. Lead weights are most practical as less aera is required for small handicap adjustments which helps in aerodynamics. Professionally, this can make up a difference between a win, place or a show.
- Fabricate custom lead foil 0.020” with black vinyl laminated to one side and PSA with release paper on the other @ 1.50″ wide x 10′- 40′ long. Supply and delivery 600 feet via Nuclead Trucking to a medical OEM in New England. This industrial application will protect people and equipment for x rays, during operations. Lead is an excellent source of x ray shielding as thinner lead sheeting is required.
- CNC Machine Lead 6% antimony plate: 1.00″ x 17.00″ x 22.00″ into many finished items per customer supplied blueprints. Confirm specifications comply to standards for back scatter x rays of mobile security units. Mobil security units are used to locate illegal contraband at check points at military bases and border crossings.
- Cast lead Pure Lead billet: 26lb x 2.375″ to 2.625″ tapered x Ref: 13.00″ long. Extrude lead construction materials and ship small order via UPS Ground to a general contractor in North Carolina. The order of lead t caps will be used for historical restoration. Nuclead also provides lead ingots for sale without extrusions services. They can be used for lead smelters, alloyed with antimony, or fabricated into custom shapes for elevator counterweights.
- Custom cut Lead sheet: 1/16″ x 48.00″ x 48.00″ and ship to an electrical contractor in Texas for lead shielding. This contractor is using the lead sheet for an industrial lead customer to prevent leakage in building construction of an x ray department. Lead sheeting is the best choice for x ray shielding to protect people and equipment.
- Cut Lead sheet: 1/16″ x 36.00″ x 36.00″ and deliver via Nuclead trucking to medical OEM in Massachusetts. The customer will use the lead products for sale for special coated splints and braces. The heavy dense lead items are used because of its soft, flexible characteristics and weight for rehabilitation. The custom, flexible and heavy lead weights are perfect specification for this commercial medical supplier.
- Fabricate custom cut Lead sheeting: 1/32″ (2lb.) x 44.00″ x 64.00″. Delivered and sold to a Department of Water and Power in California. The municipality uses the lead sheet metal for a special testing process to ensure drinking water is compliant to all State and Federal specifications. Pure lead is required for this process. Lead sheet can be used in all aeras of housing including lead lined dryway, lead soundproofing and lead flashing. Nuclead sells those along with lead lined doors to custom, commercial and industrial customers to their specifications.
- Extrude several sizes of Lead T Caps Per (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Codes. Nuclead uses pure pig lead, to produce lead billets for the extrusion process. The order contained both. Type A = Flat Cap: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth x 25lb spools and “Type B” = Inside 90-degree corner cap: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth in 25lb lengths. The order was shipped to a waterproofing company in Oregon for custom orders on commercial and industrial buildings.
- Pick and ship Lead Wool Rope per QQ-C-40. The lead rope finishes at 2.5′ of material equals 1lb x 5/8″ diameter rope. The miscellaneous lead item was used for unknown purposes at this time. It was shipped via UPS ground to a commercial location in Virginia. Lead wool can be used as aviation propellor balancing or for general construction uses including plumbing applications.
- Produce Tuyau Pb/Copper lead pipe, Dross Free, Uniform wall. Dimension: 1.75″id x .070″ wall x 5.25″ long. Using CNC equipment Nuclead then fabricates the lead product into 1.75″ Lead Outlets @ 40 PCs. /Carton. These are primarily sold to restoration firms that are required by the local historical society to conform with those building codes. Soft lead is used with alloys to prevent tearing or damage during manufacturing and installation and provide a long-term solution to the water expulsion of the building.
- Extrude using soft lead billets, custom lead weatherproofing for an historical building at a University in the Mid-West. The facilities manager requested the custom lead order and Nuclead produced and delivered it in less than 5 days. Nuclead made custom hardened dies per provided sketches and fabricated the lead items at their lead factory in New England. All virgin pig lead was used from its warehouse. The soft lead billets are made by Nuclead. Nuclead is one of the few secondary lead smelters able to produce a wide range of lead products from lead brick to CNC machining them into custom lead shielding to high tolerances and government specifications.
- Manufacture 0.021″ Lead foil with black vinyl laminated to one side and pressure sensitive adhesive with release paper on the other at 4.00″ wide x 40′ long. Delivered to a local medical OEM using the thin lead sheet for x ray protection during their assembly processes. Lead plate is the best choice for radiation and x ray shielding because of its dense properties. Led shielding is required to protect people and equipment. It is then used as lead lining when lead glass is not required for visual requirements. These type of custom lead products and applications are sold primarily to commercial and industrial customers.
