Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead based products such as Lead Weights, Lead Foil, Lead Sheeting, Lead Ballast. As well as value-added services such as Secondary Smelter, CNC machining, casting and extrusion.
Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the world.
Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.
Nuclead also has metals analysis capabilities such as nondestructive XRF (X-ray fluorescence) testing.
Nuclead’s has extensive experience in custom precision engineering. Nuclead can cast any standard lead alloy or any custom alloy to your specifications. We can machine your product to your drawings. Nuclead also provides stamping and cutting, lead welding and lead assembly and lamination services.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Cast pure lead into special sized lead weights: Sold “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square Edges Lead brick: 3.00″ x 6.00″ x 12.00″. These lead weights were sold to an Aircraft interior OEM in the southern states, which uses the lead brick for weight to simulate cargo load and balance.
- Fabricate splice and apply finishes to lead foil 0.020″ x 1.50″ x 20′; Nuclead applies PSA (3M pressure sensitive adhesive tape) with release paper to one side and black vinyl with PSA to the other. Sold to a medical OEM in the northeast for x-ray shielding purposes.
- Fabricate and ship lead soundproofing. Sold to a commercial soundproofing firm that laminates the lead sheet too synthetic foams to be used for wall shielding.
- Fabricate and ship lead crank shaft counter weights per customer blueprints. Nuclead was required to CNC mill the items to hold tight machined tolerances and ship the lead counterweights to industrial pump OEM in the Midwest.
- Fabricate Lead extrusions of lead round bar stock: Fabricated to customer blue-prints. These items are for a medical device company in the Northeast. Lead must comply to *COO*: United State of America; Raw pig materials for this order are fabricated by CFS Compliant Smelter(s) per IPC-1755. These extruded and fabricated lead items are used for leads heavy and soft mechanical properties.
From Inventory
- Pick and ship from inventory: 10 tons of lead ballast. Sold for a Harbor master in New England for ballast of a private yacht. And later in the month pick and ship from inventory: second order of 10 tons of lead ballast. Sold to the same customer for lead ballast.
- Saw and ship Lead 6% antimony: 0.800″ x 2.50″ x 6.75″; sold to a machine shop in New England for its own value-added services.
- Saw and ship Lead sheeting: 0.020″ x 31.00″ x 31.00″: Sold to a valve OEM in Minnesota for gasket materials in their fabrication process.
- Pick and ship Scrap Lead solids &/or sheet: For Misc. Weight/ Lead Ballast: Misc. sizes & grades. Nuclead sold one ton to a race car team, in the mountain states; for racing weights.
- Cut and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 11.75″ x 23.75″ x 9mm x 5/64″Le x 150kv; Sold to a construction company in New England for a new medical facility installation
