Cambridge, MA October 31, 2016 – Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of custom and standard lead products for research, industry and consumers announces the delivery of several orders for radiation shielding products to be delivered to customers in the USA and Canada.
Radiation Shielding using Lead
High frequency electromagnetic radiation (x-rays and gamma rays) can be very effectively blocked using lead as a shielding agent. This is because of the high atomic weight of lead which results from the corresponding heavy nuclei.
Additionally, lead is easy to form as it is malleable, relatively inexpensive and readily available.
Nuclead has decades of experience producing lead shielding products in every form factor, including lead sheet, lead foil, lead glass and lead bricks.
