The Antimony lead will be used in various applications including radiation shielding, automotive applications, sealing in the oil and other industries

Cambridge, MA July 28, 2017 – Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of custom and standard lead products for research, industry and consumers announces the delivery of several recent orders for Antimony lead.

Antimony forms a highly useful alloy with lead, increasing its hardness and mechanical strength. Only about 10% of the metal is used in its pure form; however, antimony compounds and alloys have several uses in the modern world. China is the world’s largest supplier of antimony and its compounds.

Lead Antimony Applications

Almost all of the antimony used in the world is in alloy with lead and other additional elements such as tin. Antimony will harden lead so that it has the mechanical strength to perform certain tasks. Around 50% of pure antimony currently produced is used for hardening lead, to make alloys which are then used (mostly) in batteries, but also in radiation shielding, ship ballast, lead seals and others.

Nuclead has extensive experience in all forms of lead alloy melt, particularly Antimony lead, Nuclead can melt Antimony lead in any percentage of Antimony, typically 3-6%, and machine to your specifications.
