The Lead glass and lead doors will be used for radiation protection in medical and other applications
West Bridgewater, MA, 10/24/2019– Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of custom and standard lead products for research, industry and consumers announces the delivery of several recent orders for Lead doors and Lead glass.
Lead doors are typically used for radiation protection in the medical or nuclear industries. A typical medical application door may be used at the entrance to an X-ray room and consists of a steel or wooden door with lead shielding built in to provide the radiation protection.
Lead glass is also used for radiation protection in the medical and nuclear industries, where it is necessary to be able to have a view of the area that is under radiation treatment. Lead glass consists of regular glass into which lead has been introduced during the melt as part of the manufacturing process
Here are recent shipments of lead doors and lead glass
- Fabricate per customer blueprint specifications: Portable X-ray box with lead doors and Lead Glass: 5/64″ Le: 11.50″ x 11.50″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. This lead x-ray shielding is used for a customer to x-ray their products before shipping as part of their QC process.
- Fabricate and ship Lead door(s): Solid Wood no panels, 1/16″ Lead (Laminated thickness: approx. 1.38″ + 1/4″ + lead) x 30.00″ x 84.00″. Customer responsible for all prep, hardware, finishes and assembly. Sold to a Millworks company in North Carolina along with radiation protection glass. Both lead items are to be used for x-ray shielding for the new construction in their state.
- Fabricate and ship to a commercial door company in Nevada, Lead door(s): Solid Wood no panels, 1/16″ Lead (Laminated thickness: approx. 1.38″ + 1/4″ + lead) x 36.00″ x 80.00″. Customer responsible for all prep, hardware, finishes and assembly.
- Laminate special 48” wide commercial Lead doors: Wood (Flush, no panels), 1/16″ Lead. Laminated thickness: approx. 2” thick. Shipped Several units to a Commercial General contractor for new hospital construction in Texas.
- Fabricate Lead door(s): Wood, Flush/slab, no panels, 1/32″ Lead (Laminated thickness: approx. 1.38″-1.75″ + 1/4″ + lead” = Overall thickness 1.75″ x 24.00″ x 84.00″. Customer responsible for all prep, hardware, finishes and assembly. Delivered to a door company in California to be installed in a hospital project they were awarded.
- Produce and deliver 0.010″ Lead foil with black vinyl laminated to one side and PSA with release paper on the other x 30′ long. Sold to a medical OEM for x-ray shielding and cosmetic finishes for their x-ray equipment manufactured and sold.

- Trim to size and deliver Lead Glass: Provided for customer preparation and assembly at Methodist Health Systems newest addition to their radiology department. 12.00″ x 15.00″ x 8.5-9.5mm x 5/64″Le x 150kv.
- Cut Lead Glass: Provided for customer preparation and assembly. 12.00″ x 15.00″ x 8.5-9.5mm x 5/64″Le x 150kv. Sold to Health system in Texas for x-ray shielding.
- Cut for will Call, Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly.13.63″ x 31.63″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. This local glass customer picked up tier special cut x-ray glass for a local medical facility that is being constructed with a radiology department.
- Cut and deliver Lead X-ray Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 12.00″ x 12.00″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. To be installed in a Chiropractic office in New York for its X-ray department.
- Cut Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. (Maybe substituted with 5/64″ Le x 9mm thick at no extra charge as inventory allows) 5.00″ x 30.00″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv; Sold to a construction company in New York for installation in a medical facility they are renovating.
- Cut and package Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 31.75″ x 31.75″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a General Contractor in Massachusetts for a local hospital project.
- Cut to size and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer preparation and assembly. Sizes were all the same for the order…12.00″ x 16.00″ x 8.5-9.5mm x 5/64″Le x 150kv. Sold to a Health Provided in Texas for a renovation project.
- Cut Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 12.00″ x 16.00″ x 10.5-11.5mm x 3/32″Le x 150kv. Sold to a dentist office in New York for a new x-ray booth.
- Cut and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. (Maybe substituted with 5/64″ Le x 9mm thick at no extra charge as inventory allows) (Digital photo required before shipment) 3.875″ x 29.375″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a glass company in Virginia for resale.
- Cut and ship five (5) sheets of Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 5/64″ Le x 9mm thick 23.25” x 45.25” x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a construction company in Vermont for a new medical facility radiation department.
