West Bridgewater, MA, 1/29/2020 – Nuclead announces the shipment of several orders for Lead wire extrusion products.
Lead wire available in pure or alloyed lead wire rolls and meeting ASTM B29 03 or QQ-L-177e are supplied in lengths ranging from 8 feet to 500 feet (Or longer if required). Lead wire is typically supplied in diameters ranging from 0.0625” to 1.50”, with various cross-sectional profiles.
Lead wire is typically extruded, lead wire larger than ¾” is difficult to coil, so larger lead cores are usually extruded in straight lengths. Diameters larger than 1.5” in diameter are usually cast.
Recent Lead Wire Shipments
- Lead extrusion, 3 tons: Lead wire: 5/16″ Dia. x 50 lb. spools. Cut all into lengths specified for custom packaging. The lead is used a weighted application and used for its heavy and flexible properties.
- Extrude Lead wire: 5/16″ Dia. x 25 lb. spools. Sold to a machine shop in Virginia for its own value-added services.
- Extrude Lead wire: 3/16″ dia. x 25 lb. spools. Sold to an aquatic testing lab that uses the lead for testing purposes. The lead reacts to chlorine and the chemist test this reaction for sample testing.
- Lead wire extrusion: 5/16″ Dia. x 50 lb. spools. Sold to a metal roofing company in Canada. This contractor uses the soft lead as a lead caulking, applied into the metal joints to present roof leaks.
- Fabricate by lead extrusion: 3% Antimony / 97% Lead wire: Round lead anodes. Sold to a metal finishing company in New England for its plating tanks.
- Lead extrusions: Fabricate 4,333 lbs. of Lead wire bar stock: 1/2″ Dia. x 28.50”. CNC turn the lead bar stock and CNC mill per customer blueprints and ship. These lead aerospace items are used for thousands of lead seals for Pratt and Whitney per PW A 360.
- Lead extrusions Lead wire: 1/4″ Dia. x 25 – 50 lb. spools. Sold to a specialized Aerodynamic engineering company that are using the lead round stock as counterweights in the wind tunnels for motorized equipment in the conception stages.
- Lead extrusion: Lead wire with 6% Antimony: 1/4″ Dia. x 50 lb. spools. Deliver to Plating house in Texas for lead anodes during plating operations.
- Extrude Lead Wire & ship: 5/8″ dia. x 25-50 lb. spools.: Sold to an aviation repair hanger in Missouri for balance weights during required routine maintenance.
- Fabricate and ship Pure Lead Wire: 1/2″ Dia. x 25 lb. spools. Sold to a Hardware store in the gulf region for re-sale.
- Lead extrusions: Fabricate 4,000 lbs. of Lead wire: 5/16″ Dia. x 50 lb. spool. Cut per customer blueprints and ship. These medical items take advantage of the lead’s density and soft properties.
- Fabricate lead extrusion, description Lead wire: 3/8″ Dia. x 25 lb. spools: Sold to an OEM Valve service company that uses the materials for checking clearance on gas compressors in Oklahoma. The soft lead has the required chemical properties to allow it to be cut and pressed in the cavity to be inspected afterwards.
