The Lead Doors and Lead Glass will be used for Radiation Protection and other applications
Cambridge, MA December 31, 2018 – Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of custom and standard lead products for research, industry and consumers announces the delivery of several recent orders for Lead Doors and Lead Glass.
Lead doors are standard steel or wooden doors and frames with lead shielding from .002″-.5″ thickness as required, with or without lead glass windows. They are suitable for x-ray and radiation shielding required by the medical and scientific research industry.
Lead Doors can also be used for soundproofing applications
Lead core doors are much heavier than unprotected doors, and therefore special hardware, framing, and hinge systems need to be considered, due to both weight and shielding requirements. The door framing systems must also be lead-lined to ensure a complete protective barrier.
Lead glass is regular glass in which lead has been included in the melt, during manufacture
Lead Glass is used when a clear view and radiation shielding is of absolute priority in diagnostic, therapy, isotopic or nuclear radiation sources – used for medical treatment, imaging, testing, inspection, experimentation or energy production.
