Nuclead is an experienced provider of sheet lead for radiation shielding applications such as X-ray room shielding, medical imaging rooms and MRI shielding and carries a large inventory of x-ray grade lead, in various forms, in its warehouse, available to ship immediately.
Also, Nuclead has extensive manufacturing and machining capabilities that allow for the fabrication of any custom lead shielding products.
Our custom precision lead services include mold fabrication and pours, 3D and CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application. All our processes are governed by ISO 9001:2015, accredited quality control practices.
Here are recent some shipments
- Laminate 0.020″ Lead foil with black vinyl laminated to one side and PSA with release paper on the other @ 1.50″ wide x 10′- 20′ long. Sold to a medical OEM, to lead is to be assembled as x-ray shielding for its products delivered to medical facilities worldwide.
- Laminate customer supplied two (2) Isotope Hoods: (2 sides, top front panel & 1 bottom only), per blueprints provided RFQ: 1/8” thick x-ray lead shielding, at least 3/8” overlap &/or mitered joints permissible all seems to prevent leakage, using 3M Hi-Strength 90. Shipped to their facility for lead glass installation and site installation.
- Fabricate lead shielding using AMS-7721 Antimony Lead plate. Nuclead to CNC Mill and CNC turn precision lead shielding for a government contractor in Canada. The lead items sold are fabricated to ISO 9001: 2015 standards and certified to customer supplied blueprints. The customer markets its products to the military, nuclear power, oil and gas, and industrial customers throughout the United States and internationally.
- Extrude lead x-ray shielding for a commercial door manufacturer in New York. This firm uses the lead for x-ray shielding around seams and utilities boxes to protect people and equipment.
- Fabricate Lead Sleeve: 6.50″ ID x 1/4″ Wall x 38.00″ Long. Delivered via Nuclead trucking to a local municipality with power outages. The Lead shielding was required to protect equipment and personnel of high voltage lines.
- Sell Extruded Lead pipe:1.00″ id x 1/4″ wall x 96.00″ lg. to a technology firm in New England. The Lead for sale is as radiation protection during experiments that produce radiation. The Lead shielding will protect equipment and personnel during operations.
- Ship extruded Lead Pipe: 3.50″ id x 3/16″ wall x 20.00″ lg. and seamless Lead Sleeves 2.50″ id x 3/16″ wall x 20.00″ lg. these custom lead tubing products were delivered to a government sub-contractors third party buyer in California. The lead tubing items will be used as radiation shielding in a research and industry environment.
- Cut Lead sheet: 1/8″ x 48.25″ x 291.00″ into Lead coils rolls. Delivered the Lead products for sale via Nuclead Trucking. All Lead items ae used as radiation shielding for a research and development laboratory in Cambridge Mass.
- CNC machine Lead sheet: 1/2″ x 60.25″ x 68.25″ to QQ-L-201 per customer supplied blueprints. This custom lead order was delivered to a laboratory in the mid-west for radiation shielding during testing. Lead plates to this specification are void free to allow no radiation leakage. Lead sheeting to the specification can also be used as lead lined drywall and lead walls if required. The CNC machining produced high tolerance slots, holes and cavities along with special inserts and threaded inserts for a large lead assemble at the customer facility. Lead glass was installed into the lead sheet. The x ray glass will allow the operator to work and be protected. A small lead lined door was also installed to allow products tested to be placed into the chamber and also removed.
- CNC mill a large lead shielding order for a national laboratory using Pick: Lead Brick per QQ-L-201f: 2.00″ x 4.00″ x 8.00″. This void free lead plate was required per customer provided blueprints to reduce leakage and maintain proper lead shielding requirements. Not all lead shielding requires this denser lead item, but in this case, it was specified. Ship overnight air to the customers facility in California for research and testing.
