Lead flashing (also known as lead roll), is used is used at intersections and roof edges such as valley flashing, chimney flashing, and roof penetrations to prevent leaks.

Cambridge, MA September 15, 2014 – Nuclead a leader in the manufacture and distribution of custom and standard lead products for all applications, announces the recent delivery of several orders for lead flashing to contractor customers in the United States.

Lead flashing or lead roll is typically used at intersections and roof edges such as valley flashing, chimney flashing, and roof penetrations to prevent leaks. The lead flashing is malleable and can be easily cut to size and shaped into the correct form to properly match the roof lines. The lead flashing easily accommodates any shifting in the roof lines, walls or chimneys so that the joint remains weather proof

More often used in climates that have harsher Winters such as the North Eastern United States, Lead flashing is non the less used in many parts of the country, particularly on house of historical significant where authenticity is required.

Nuclead has all common sizes of lead roof flashing and lead chimney flashing are in stock for immediate delivery from our warehouse. Lead flashing usually comes in the form of lead rolls consisting of flexible lead sheets. Custom lead flashing rolls in any width or thickness are also available and can be quickly manufactured to individual needs.

Recent Lead Flashing deliveries

  • Here are some examples of recent lead flashing delivered to the North Eastern United States and beyond:
  • Nuclead fabricated and shipped a custom order of extra wide lead flashing. The extra wide lead flashing was sold to a building distributor in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Nuclead also sawed and shipped from in stock inventory, special thick and oversized lead flashing, this was sold to another general contractor in Freehold, NJ
  • We fabricated and shipped per customer specifications, Special cut lead flashing for custom window designs, this was shipped to a window manufacturer in Pittsburgh, PA
  • We picked and shipped lead flashing from in-stock inventory and then shipped it to a general contractor in Chatsworth, CA
  • Nuclead fabricated and shipped a special sized lead flashing to a repeat customer, to Erie, PA
  • Also, Nuclead provided lead flashing at our cost to a church in Orleans, MA
  • Finally, we shipped large order of lead flashing to a building supply distributor.

As mentioned, lead flashing is more prevalent in older structures, such as churches and brick buildings, while lead flashing will last for a long time – perhaps even centuries – it will eventually require maintenance or replacement. Small holes can be repaired using either bituminous sealer or metal backed lead flashing strips attached with waterproof adhesive.

If the lead flashing needs to be replaced then particular care must be taken on corners – both external and internal – to ensure that a watertight seal is created.

Whether you need standard stock or custom lead flashing Nuclead is able to meet your needs quickly and with quality.
