Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead-based products such as Radiation Shielding, Lead Bricks, Lead Ballast, Lead Glass.
Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the world.
Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.
Nuclead’s custom precision engineering services include mold fabrication as well as the production of lead alloy and other alloys, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Fabricate complete per customer supplied blueprints and written specifications using CNC machine tools. Lead Laminate customer supplied Hoods: (3 sides & 1 bottom only), per prints provided RFQ using lead radiation shielding 1/8” thick lead, At least 3/8” overlap &/or mitered joints permissible all seems to prevent leakage, using 3M Hi-Strength 90. Hood #1: Sold to a Specialized General contractor that does customer spec work for all industries. These particular units are going to be finished radiation cabinets ship to Hospital in Texas. More Hoods were quoted and pending orders are in the pipeline.
- Fabricate and ship “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Interlocking 1.00″ x 4.00″ x 8.00″ brick, chevron style: Sold to an inspection company using the lead brick for radiation protection during their testing of a nuclear power plant in the mid-west.
- Laminate 0.005″ Pure Lead Foil and Apply 3m 97057 conductive transfer adhesive to one side. Send to our customers third party testing lab in Milwaukee for a certified approval to continue with large production lots. These items final shipping destination is to Lockheed Martin company for an aerospace application.
- Fabricate custom ship lead ballast per special sizes, using Pure lead Pig Ingots: 20.5″ x 3.25″ x 3.00″ with handles @ 64 lbs. each & 3.25″ x 3.00″ x 7.00″ @ approx. 28lbs each. This special order was shipped to a marina in New Jersey.
- Fill customer supplied metal vision equipment that creates radiation during its processes with 100% pure lead per ASTM-B29. Each cavity holds 2,000 lbs. of lead each and weights 3,000# completed & the lad is for radiation shielding. The extremely large equipment will be shipped to a national laboratory for assembly.
- Fabricate complete per customer supplied blueprints and written specifications using CNC machine tools, using lead sheeting ¼” thick per QQ-l-201-f. Shipped to a fastening solutions OEM in Ohio.
- CNC mill AMS-7721 Antimony Lead plate: .080″ x 48.25″ x 48.25″ into several individual aerospace component parts per supplied blueprints, for a government defense contractor in Canada.
- Lead line and lead lamination a customer supplied x-ray box. The lead shielding inside the steel assembly will provide lead x-ray shielding for the scientists using the equipment for testing. Nuclead was also contracted to finish the assembly with
Prime/Paint Yellow Durachem. The full assembly was shipped back complete to its customer in New England. - Fabricate and ship special radiation lead brick for a laboratory in New York. The Nuclead lead brick will be used for this lead radiation shielding requirement per their specifications.

- Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 11/16″ wide x 1/2” joint depth x 25# (Ref: 60′) spool(s). “Type A” = Flat cap. The items were shipped to a dental facility in Pennsylvania to be used as radiation protection for their X-ray equipment.
- Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1.50″ wide x 13/16″ joint depth x (Ref: Approx.; Three 7′ long lengths per 25# billet extruded). 25# min. buy required; “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Code: #07656-01 & #765601S. Sold to a large general contractor in New York, for stone flashing project at a New Jersey site.
- Lead extrusions Lead wire: 1/4″ Dia. x 25 – 50 lb. spools. Sold to a specialized Aerodynamic engineering company that are using the lead round stock as counter weights in the wind tunnels for motorized equipment in the conception stages.
- Cut Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. (Maybe substituted with 5/64″ Le x 9mm thick at no extra charge as inventory allows) 5.00″ x 30.00″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv; Sold to a construction company in New York for installation in a medical facility they are renovating.
- Cut Lead sheet: 3/32″ x 10.00″ x 48.00″; Sold to a machine shop in New England for their own value-added services.
- Pick and ship tons of Scrap Lead: Chips, dross, solids, reclaimed shot &/or shavings; For Misc. Weight/Ballast: Misc. sizes, alloys & grades. Sold to a mining equipment OEM in Pennsylvania, requiring the reclaimed lead to fill cavities as counter balance.
- Cut and package Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 31.75″ x 31.75″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a General Contractor in Massachusetts for a local hospital project.
- Cut to size and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer preparation and assembly. Sizes were all the same for the order…12.00″ x 16.00″ x 8.5-9.5mm x 5/64″Le x 150kv. Sold to a Health Provided in Texas for a renovation project.
- Saw and ship Lead sheet: 5/64″ x 2.00″ x 168.00″. Sold to a glass company in the northeast that uses the lead sheeting as custom method of lead cam, to prevent leakage. The lead provides x-ray shielding to protect operators and equipment from harm or damage.
- Saw and deliver to a local wholesaler, Lead sheet: 1/16″ x 24.00″ x 48.00″: This customer will re-sell the items to their customer for unknown purposes.
