Some shipments required significant fabrication activities, some needed to be cut to size or picked from our extensive in-stock inventory of lead products, and many projects required value-added engineering and machine shop services.
Recent Shipments for Medical and Maritime Industries.
- Production Build Soft Pure Lead Pig ingots, approximately 30#-70# ingots. (Approximate size: 3.50″ x 4.00″ x 22.00″, loaf shape) and Pure Lead billet: 26# 2.375″ to 2.625″ tapered (2.44″ dia) x Ref: 13.00″ long to extrude lead into lead construction materials of Weather-T- Caps: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth x 25 lb. coils of “Type A” = Flat cap. As a secondary lead smelter, Nuclead can produce the lead products with the promised date the customer requires. Lead construction materials can also consist of lead lined drywall, lead flashing, or lead lined doors. All these components can ship together on one LTL bill lading to any state in the union. Lead lined sheetrock cost can vary with quantity and size.
- Production Build Hard Pure Lead Pigs, lead weight of 60 lbs. ingots each into 6% Antimony Lead billets 25# 2.375″ to 2.625″ tapered x Ref: 13″ long to extrude lead into Lead wire: 5/16″ Dia. x 50 lb. spools then Set-up & 1st Pc., into cut lead round wire 25.50” long. This order of lead for sale was produced into a flexible lead weight for a medical company OEM. This lead order sold by the pound was shipped with an LTL carrier to the mid-eastern U.S. industrial corridor. These lead components can also be applied for lead welding, x-ray shielding materials or custom lead CNC lathe turned lead flat washers.
- Pick and ship Solid-Scrap lead solids and lead sheeting for miscellaneous weight and ballast or Re-melting: various sizes, grades and alloys. It was delivered to a marina in Massachusetts for lead ship ballast. Due to the ship requiring U.S. Coast Guard approval, the Lead weights were urgently needed for this maritime fleet, requiring us to complete this order promptly. We finished it in two days. The heavy lead bars were necessary for proper lead counterbalance requirements before they could leave the dock. Lead bricks and lead blocks are the best choice for these applications for their heavy, dense physical properties. As a secondary lead smelter, Nuclead can produce these lead items quickly and efficiently for your maritime needs.
- Cast lead build of Inventory adjustment: Stock-Scrap Lead solids or sheet: For lead weight, lead ballast for boats or Re-melting: Different sizes and grades and smelt lead into Lead Cast / Pour Labor: 3.00″ O.D. x 3.00″ Long custom lead billets. Deliver by Nuclead Trucking to a local harbor for commercial fishing boat ballast. The custom lead weights can be used for machining lead, elevator counterweight, or lead washers for commercial or industrial use.
- Lead Cast Build: pick pure Lead Pig Ingots, 60# – 70# ingots per ANSI / ASTM B29. Per customer-supplied written orders, only pure and certified lead were allowed. No lead-alloyed materials were allowed. Ensure not to under weigh lead counterweights and certify weight; cast lead weight into Nuclead “Puritan” Brand, Pure Caulking Lead: Five count of Virgin 5 lb. ingots. Ship via LTL trucking to a mining equipment OEM in the Mid-West. This bulk lead for sale is Nuclead’s purest lead. It will be used as lead gaskets for diesel engine fabrication and assembly. This soft, pure lead can also be used for lead washers and spacers, which can have no void, foreign material, or alloys. This industrial customer requires this type of perfection, and Nuclead certified this lead to perfection
- Pick and ship free samples of lead extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 11/16″ wide x 1/2″ joint depth x Approx. 12.00″; “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Code: #452001S & #765601S. Ship via UPS Ground to a construction consultant in New York for customer approval. Lead construction materials like lead lined drywall, lead wool, or lead lined doors often require samples for approval by engineers, owners, or architects.
- CNC Lathe build: Pick Tuyau Lead/Copper, seamless lead pipe, Dross Free, Uniform wall. Dimension: 2.00″id x .070″ wall x 5.25″ long. Set up lead tubing into CNC lathe chuck and fabricate into lead construction materials 1.75″ Lead Outlets at 40 pieces per carton. Deliver via Nuclead trucking to a national hardware store distributor for resale. Lead sleeves are used as radiation shielding or x-ray shielding. The thicker the wall, the more lead shielding is provided for protection.
- Lead extrusion Build: Pick Pure Lead billet: 26# 2.440″ diameter x Ref: 13.00″ long and fabricated into flat cap, lead weather t-caps. We shipped a significant amount of lead weight via LTL trucking to a construction company in New York. The lead t-caps will be used for a historical repair once approved by the U.S. Government building owner. Nuclear also quoted custom lead elevator counterweights for the same project. All custom lead weights are certified per customer written specifications and drawings.
- Pick and ship from in-stock inventory, hard 6% antimony lead Pig ingots, 30 lb. ingots. Deliver via Nuclead Trucking to a shipbuilder in Maine for ship ballast. This commercial marina requires fast custom service and Nuclead provides that promptly. They have used many lead materials for the ship’s ballasts, including lead blocks, lead bars, and lead sheets. The lead sheeting provided proper lead weight and lead soundproofing to make some commercial boating vessels in the tourism industry a quieter voyage.
- Pick Lead sheeting: 1/8″ x 48.25″ x 291.00″ and fabricate into custom Lead sheet: 3mm thick x 5.00″ x 5.00″. Ship via UPS to an energy company in New Jersey. The customer will be using the lead items for the industrial distribution industry. Lead products will be assembled into rotation equipment, bearing and power transmission as lead counterweights.
- Pick and ship Free Samples of Lead Extrusions of lead flat caps 2″ wide to a general contractor in Chicago for engineering approval. The commercial lead products are being evaluated for a large order to be shipped this quarter. The industrial and commercial general contractor will proceed with this waterproofing contract upon receipt of the delivery from Nuclead. Raw lead metal was used to produce the finished product and inventoried for customer evaluations when needed.
- Build lead soundproofing project for a contractor in Massachusetts. Nuclead used in-stock lead billets 25# each to extrude lead into 11/16″ flat lead ribbon. The lead bar stock will be used during assembly to prevent sounds from penetrating a quiet space for sound studio projects. This custom lead order will be delivered via Nuclead trucking in one consignment within the week. Lead metal is the best metal for soundproofing, as it is much denser than anything else in the market today, at the most economical pricing per pound.
- Extrude 7/16″ diameter round lead wire onto 50# spools. Using pure pig lead and casting it into round billets, Nuclead can fabricate this lead metal into this finished industrial lead individual components quickly and economically.
- Using a seamless lead pipe, Nuclead can CNC machine it to custom tolerances and shapes per customer’s written blueprints and specifications. After CNC lathe work, the fussy lead tubing thin walls create just enough radiation shielding required for testing fusion in a National Laboratory. Nuclead is a specialist in radiation shielding for research and industry.
